Armordon® co-extruded tapes are highly oriented to give optimum physical properties. Tapes can be used for winding onto pipes and vessels, thereby offering a significant degree of reinforcement. It is also possible to use the tapes in filament lay-up, to create sheets for a variety of applications.
Armordon® tapes are produced using specialised co-extrusion technology. Each individual co-extruded tape consists of a high melting point polymer core, surrounded by a lower melting point copolymer “cap” coat. Co-extrusion technology ensures strong affinity between the two components of the tape, and results in a tape with a flexible range of properties.
